ABET IT SERVICES: TERMS OF SERVICE
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY.
These terms govern the provision of any computer support services (“Services”) provided by Abet IT Services (operating as Abet Computers LLC).
By authorizing services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the right, capacity, and authorization necessary to legally bind yourself to these terms. You acknowledge that by your use of the services, you are authorizing Abet IT Services to access and control your computer for the purposes of diagnosis, service, and repair.
1. QUOTES & ESTIMATES
Verbal Quotes: Any verbal quote is given as a guide based on limited information. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed price.
Written Quotes: Written quotes are valid for 7 days.
Price Adjustments: If, after a technician has evaluated the system, it appears that the cost to repair is higher than the original quote, no work will commence without explicit client approval.
2. PAYMENT TERMS & PENALTIES
All work must be paid in full upon completion of service.
Delinquency: If an amount remains delinquent 30 days after its issue date, an additional 10% penalty will be added for each week of delinquency (up until 60 days) or the maximum interest rate permitted by applicable law, whichever is lower.
Collection Costs: In case collection proves necessary, the client agrees to pay all fees incurred by that process, including legal and agency fees.
Diagnostic Fee: A diagnostic fee of $20.00 applies if the client declines a repair after diagnostics have been performed.
3. EQUIPMENT ABANDONMENT
Due to storage limitations, Abet IT Services strictly enforces the following abandonment policy:
60-Day Limit: If equipment is left with Abet IT Services and is not collected within sixty (60) days after we notify you that the service is complete (or a quote has been provided), the equipment will be considered legally abandoned.
Transfer of Rights: After 60 days, the equipment becomes the sole property of Abet IT Services. You agree to hold Abet IT Services harmless for any claim regarding the abandoned property.
Disposal: We reserve the right to scrap, recycle, or resell the equipment to recoup costs.
Data Destruction: Please note that all data will be destroyed to DOD Standards upon abandonment, regardless of whether the equipment is resold or recycled.
4. DATA BACKUP & LIABILITY
It is the customer’s responsibility to back up all data prior to submitting equipment for repair.
Risk: You acknowledge that computer repair involves inherent risks, including potential data loss or hardware failure.
Release of Liability: Abet IT Services shall not be responsible under any circumstances for any loss, alteration, or corruption of any software, data, or files. We do not perform major data recovery services.
Limitation: Abet IT Services shall not be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including lost profits or revenue. Our total liability is limited to the contract price for the services provided.
5. SOFTWARE & AUTHORIZATION
Access: You grant Abet IT Services the right to download, install, and use software on your computer to gather system data, repair your computer, and change settings.
Licensing: You authorize us to accept End User License Agreements (EULA) on your behalf for necessary software.
Trial Software: We may install trial versions of software that will expire (usually in 30 days) unless you purchase a license.
6. WARRANTY POLICY
Abet IT Services offers the following warranty periods. This warranty applies only to the specific part or service performed.
7. CONFIDENTIALITY
Abet IT Services agrees not to disclose any information or data files supplied with, stored on, or recovered from client’s equipment except to employees or agents of Abet IT Services subject to confidentiality agreements or as required by law.
